Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland will incorporate John Williams music from the first six Star Wars films into the land. The update is part of an overhaul that incorporates multiple Star Wars eras into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
John Williams Music at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge already features the original Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite by Williams, which won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition. His film scores have also been featured during the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks show and Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga projection show. But now the land’s background music will include Williams’ iconic scores from the first six Star Wars films.
The “Main Title” and Force Theme will play in the tunnels of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as guests enter the land. Motifs from “Han Solo and the Princess,” “The Desert and the Robot Auction,” “The Emperor,” and more will play throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. In Oga’s Cantina, guests will hear the classic “Cantina Band” song.
Originally, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge did not include background area music like most Disney theme park lands as Imagineers wanted guests to “live their own Star Wars adventure”. The land was instead filled with noises of droids, creatures, starships coming & going, and the like. While some guests appreciated the immersion, others felt something was missing. The only points at which guests could experience the land with a classic John Williams score playing would be on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and during the Savi’s Handbuilt Lightsabers experience.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge changes, including the music additions, will officially go into effect on April 29, 2026, although guests might start to see (or hear) updates earlier.
John Williams & Star Wars

Williams composed the music for the nine main Star Wars films. The other films, specials, TV shows, and games were scored by different composers but still feature Williams’ themes.
He has earned countless nominations and wins for the Star Wars scores, alongside his other famous soundtracks for films like Jaws and E.T. His accolades for the original Star Wars film include the Academy Award for Best Original Score, BAFTA’s Anthony Asquith Award for Original Film Music, Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score – Motion Picture, Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition (for the “Main Title” theme), and Saturn Award for Best Music. The American Film Institute named the Star Wars score the top film score of all time. Williams was named a Disney Legend in 2024.
