small world Gifts & Sundries Temporarily Closed

The small World Gifts and Sundries location at Disneyland Hotel is closed due to a flood that occurred on New Year’s Eve. The windows to the right have been completely blacked out, blocking any views to that side of the shop. However, guests can see inside the other half.

It appears that the flood may have been caused by a ceiling link, as much of the paneling has been removed. Plastic sheets currently cover the majority of the ceiling.

Merchandise has been removed from several of the shelves inside of the store, although many plastic items, headwear, and bottles remain. A section of ear headbands has been covered with a plastic garbage bag.

Several industrial driers are sitting around the floor in addition to a large garbage can covered in plastic as a cleaning crew likely attempts to restore the small shop.

According to the Disneyland website, the small shop will reopen with normal hours on Friday, January 9. No times are available prior to that date. We do not know what cause the flooding of the store, but heavy rains in Anaheim around the New Year could have been the culprit. The nearby larger gift shop, Disney’s Fantasia Shop, is still open for guest needs.
