Back of Cinderella Castle Now Mostly Gray at Magic Kingdom

Every day, Cinderella Castle turns a little bit more gray as the Magic Kingdom icon has its classic color scheme restored.

Recently, the pink and gold areas around the clock on the front of the castle were painted gray. Some of the gold trim behind the clock tower has been painted gray and crew members have started painting the nearby pink walls. The pink wall at the back of the balcony below the clock has yet to be painted.

On the back of the castle, there’s now far more gray than pink. Crews have been painting around the windows of Cinderella’s Royal Table, and there’s even less pink to be seen than in our last painting update.

The remaining pink and gold is above each window but the walls and trim around the glass are completely gray now.

On the east side of the castle, we saw a crew member painting a wall.

The east side is where painting began. In the past few days, a wall near the front has been painted gray.

Cinderella Castle in the Past

For reference, pictured above is the castle in 2019 with its original color scheme: two shades of light gray, light blue roofs, and minimal gold touches. Also pictured is the castle in 2021 immediately after it was painted for the 50th anniversary, featuring a darker gray lower half, pink top half, royal blue roofs, and more gold.
