Canopy Expanded, Steel Added to New Show Building in Avengers Campus

Crews continue to add to the canopy that will connect new Avengers Campus rides, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Work on the canopy began in early January, as part of an expansion that will nearly double the size of the land in Disney California Adventure.

Avengers Campus Canopy

On Tuesday, February 10, we saw a new section of canopy being secured. It was still attached to the crane with straps. Though not yet complete, pieces of the canopy now span the length of the show building.

During our last construction update, the canopy ended at the scaffolding covered in black scrim, visible in the background. Also new is the vertical steel framework on the wall beyond that scaffolding.

Crew members were working on a platform under the canopy. Once the white frames are done being installed, roofing will be added, as seen in concept art for the expansion.

A group of people, including families with children, walk towards the entrance of "Avengers: Infinity Defense" attraction in a sunny, futuristic Avengers Campus setting with vibrant lighting and greenery.

New Restrooms

There’s more scaffolding covered in black scrim on the new restroom building between Avengers Campus and Cars Land. There was previously a walkway here but it’s closed due to the construction.

There are also construction walls around the former Tower of Terror FastPass distribution station outside Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! However, we haven’t seen any work on the building.
