A new construction permit was filed for changes to the former Disney Junior Play and Dance building as part of the ongoing reimagining of the Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Permit Filed for Disney Junior Play and Dance

The permit contracts the Buena Vista Construction Company to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction” for 150 Showbiz Boulevard, the location for the Disney Jr. Play and Dance building. The permit was filed on February 19, 2026 and will expire in one year.
The permit is likely for ongoing changes to reimagine the Disney Jr. Play and Dance show into the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! The show premiered last year at Disney California Adventure. Inspired by Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+, it features Mickey and Minnie searching for their friends so they can party together. The show is part of a larger reimagining of the Animation Courtyard.
The Magic of Disney Animation Courtyard

The Magic of Disney Animation was an attraction in Animation Courtyard from the park’s opening in 1989 to 2015, when it was replaced by Star Wars: Launch Bay. The experience will return in 2026 as a “place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.”
The new experience is partially inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Emmy Award-winning short film “Once Upon A Studio,” honoring 100 years of The Walt Disney Company.
Other recent permits filed include new signage for the courtyard entrance and soundstage housing The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure. The show will remain, but the soundstage will be renamed Studio Theater.
