The fifth anniversary of Super Nintendo World is rapidly approaching at Universal Studios Japan, and there will be a light-up star popcorn bucket and more ways to celebrate.

Super Star Popcorn Bucket

On March 18, 2026, Universal Studios Japan will celebrate the fifth anniversary of Super Nintendo World. The anniversary theme is “We are all STARS!” Limited items will be available with the invincible Super Star motif, such as the anniversary Power-Up Band the Super Star Popcorn Bucket.

The anniversary version of the popcorn bucket flashes various colors with Super Star background music from the game and has adjustable strap with the 5th anniversary of Super Nintendo World logo and wordmark.

Limited-Time “Invincible” Merchandise

A new “Invincible Mario” Anniversary Power-Up Band will be available. The colorful band will feature a Super Star and the puck will have a rainbow “M.”

New merchandise will feature a Super Nintendo World map motif. Among these items will be a face towel with a Super Star patch accent.

Limited-Time Super Star Food

As previously announced, the anniversary will center around an N64 birthday cake in the Super Star Plaza. The monument will also be available as an actual dessert: the Super Nintendo World Anniversary Cake at Kinopio’s Cafe. The cake is decorated with colorful stars.

Also at Kinopio’s Cafe will be the Super Star Anniversary Plate – Mushroom Lasagna & Fried Chicken. This hearty plate imagines Mario embarking on a grand adventure atop a “stage” made of chicken and lasagna. The star of the dish is a fluffy Super Star–shaped bread.

At Mario Café & Store (Schwab’s Pharmacy) in the Hollywood Area, a Super Star–themed pancake will be available. The Invincible! Super Star Pancake Sandwich – Mango features colorful, sparkling pancakes filled with rich mango cream and crunchy star-shaped sugar toppings. Limited-time drinks at Mario Café & Store will also be upgraded with sparkling Super Star flair.

The store will also be decorated for the 5th anniversary.

Here’s the story of the anniversary Super Stars:

Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, and Yoshi are baking a cake together.​

Princess Peach asks Toad to fetch some Super Stars from a box for a special touch.​
But when he opens it … the Super Stars burst out in every direction!​

Now things are glowing with invincible, colorful energy, sending everyone’s excitement to a whole new level.

Guests will be able to search for Super Stars to complete the cake. When guests bring a Star to a team member, they will receive a limited-edition 5th anniversary sticker. The popcorn bucket, food items, and merchandise all count as Stars.

Guests can also get creative and make a star with their hands or poses.

The anniversary festivities run through January 11, 2027.
