Bees have moved into Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland, but unfortunately guests can’t grab a smackerel of honey. On Sunday, March 23 we saw the bees swarming around a tree where they had created a hive.

The bees were not a danger to guests and Disney did not close off any nearby pathways. However, a pair of security cast members were stationed next to the large tree where the bees had made their home outside Plaza Inn.

We could see the large beehive among the tree’s branches.

Dozens — if not hundreds — of bees were visible buzzing around the tree. They appeared to be swarming, a natural part of their reproduction process. Though it can look scary, bees are at their most docile when swarming.

Of course, though the bees are gentle during this process, they could still sting if they feel threatened. If you see the bees on Main Street, leave them be and they will eventually settle down. Disney may call in a professional service to safely move the bees.
