Before the refurbished Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopens on April 8, Walt Disney World Cast Members are getting their own preview of the updated attraction.
Cast Member Preview

Today is the first day of Cast Member previews at the refurbished Space Ranger Spin, starting with Cast Members who have Magic Kingdom as their base location. We know at this time that public previews are supposed to start on March 29, though we don’t know exactly who those previews are open to. The usual Annual Passholder previews have not yet been officially announced.

This morning, we saw some Cast Members going into the refurbished ride. The glass doors are now updated with graphics of spaceship doors with the Space Ranger logo on them.

This morning, Disney released the first preview images of the refurbished ride. We also have a video of the interior of the ride with updated ride vehicles, game equipment, targets, and a new animated scene.

Versions of the Buzz Lightyear shooting attraction have existed at all six Disney castle parks in the world. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Hong Kong Disneyland closed in 2017 to become Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! The Tokyo Disneyland version closed in 2024 to be replaced by a Wreck-It Ralph attraction.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closed last August for a major overhaul. Watch the original version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin below.
