Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom will reopen on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 and Disney has just released photos from inside the refurbished ride.
The new photos that Disney has just released show the new targets, ride vehicles and updated scenes.

The targets are now all interactive, with new lighting effects that react when you hit them.

The ride has all-new vehicles, replacing the original 1970s If You Had Wings vehicles. These will have new displays showcasing the revamped scoring system.

The blasters themselves are now handheld and interact with updated targets. WDWNT got to play-test the blasters and targets last summer.

The climactic battle scene is also updated to add Buzz. Disney teased Toy Story 5 Easter eggs and more surprises in the ride.
Disney Parks has also shared a first look on X.
The exterior is going through an update, including a new sign.
Versions of the Buzz Lightyear shooting attraction have existed at all six Disney castle parks in the world. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Hong Kong Disneyland closed in 2017 to become Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! The Tokyo Disneyland version closed in 2024 to be replaced by a Wreck-It Ralph attraction.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closed last August for the major overhaul. Watch the original version of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin below.
