'Frozen 3' Directors Hint at Possible Movie Plot While Visiting World of Frozen

A Disney+ behind-the-scenes video about World of Frozen, now open at Disneyland Paris, may offer a hint at the plot of Frozen 3.

Disney+ Insider: World of Frozen follows Jennifer Lee, writer and director of the Frozen films, and Trent Correy, co-director of Frozen 3. The pair asked Queen Anna about wedding plans, possibly teasing a potential Anna/Kristoff wedding in the next Frozen film. The characters got engaged at the end of Frozen 2.

“We hear there are big wedding plans happening. Are you excited?” Lee asked Anna.

“Oh, yes! I’m so excited!” Anna said.

Lee and Correy joked about whether or not they were invited to the wedding, then Correy asked Anna if she was doing most of the planning.

Anna explained, “Olaf said he likes to be in charge of all the party planning in Arendelle, and he told us that he and Kristoff have been planning a really big surprise for the Snowflower Festival!”

World of Frozen is set during the Snowflower Festival.

At the end of the video, Lee mentioned that guests were invited to the wedding. When Correy asked if they were going, Lee assured him, “We’re all going.”

Correy added he’s “really excited” about what is in the works for Frozen 3.

Olaf self-walking animatronic in World of Frozen in Disneyland Paris

Correy and Lee also met Oaken and the self-walking “living” Olaf animatronic. Correy bonded with Olaf over Once Upon a Snowman (2020), the short film he directed about Olaf’s creation. They interacted with Mossie, and Lee told the young troll that her crystal is made of the Northern Lights, a reference to Frozen spin-off books.

The pair admired the land’s architecture, such as the ice spires on Arendelle Castle, which Lee said Anna decided to keep after becoming queen. Elsa’s ice and the more traditional Arendelle wood architecture represent the bond between the sisters.

Nordic Crowns Tavern in World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris

Lee pointed out similar architectural notes throughout the land, like the cool tones of Elsa on one half of Nordic Crowns Tavern and the warm tones of Anna on the other half.

Frozen 3 is set for release on November 24, 2027. Josh Gad recently returned to the recording booth to voice Olaf. Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa) will also return.

A Frozen short film is also reportedly releasing this year, and Frozen 4 is in development. Lee stepped down from her position as Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios to focus on the Frozen franchise.
