Imagineering Permit Filed for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Merchandise Kiosk

Walt Disney Imagineering filed a new Notice of Commencement for the Shop ‘N’ Roll merchandise kiosk outside Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. The ride is currently getting a Muppets makeover, so the kiosk might, too.

The permit is for “General construction” and contracts InterAmerica Stage, which specializes in theatrical equipment. Because the permit was filed by Walt Disney Imagineering and not Facility Asset Management, it’s safe to say this will be some kind of thematic update, but we don’t know exactly what.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed last weekend to be reimagined and the band’s name was quickly removed from signage. It will reopen as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets this summer. Disney has started adding flames to the courtyard’s upside down car.

The courtyard, including Shop ‘N’ Roll, remains open during construction so guests can access Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. The kiosk mostly sells pins and headwear. It may close for construction soon.
