After being changed from a store into a seating area and then back into a store last year, Port Royal Curios & Curiosities in New Orleans Square has closed again to become a themed seating area.

For decades, Port Royal Curios & Curiosities served as the official Haunted Mansion gift shop, selling merchandise related to the attraction as well as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Disney Villains items.
However, the opening of Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond in late 2024 made Port Royal somewhat redundant.

Disneyland first transformed the space into a faux jazz club in May 2025 by adding a bar-top style seating area (complete with a fake barback), additional tables and chairs, and jazz posters on the walls. The seating area also served the Royal Street Veranda quick-service restaurant next door.

However, by July 2025, Port Royal Curios & Curiosities was resurrected, but no longer sold Haunted Mansion merchandise; instead, its stock was themed to Nightmare Before Christmas, Fantasmic!, and Disney Villains.

Port Royal Jazz Club has reopened this year. We are unsure if this will be a temporary change or something more permanent, but this space is certainly needed for the heavy Spring Break and summer crowds.

The inside theming doesn’t look significantly different than its first turn as a seating area last spring. We noted before that the specialty propping was extensive for an overnight turnover of the space, so this may be something more permanent or at least consistent year after year.

The outside seating areas are distinguished by the chair and table colors. Royal Street Veranda’s setups are blue with gold and white tables, while the Port Royal Jazz Club has red chairs and dark ironwork tables.
