Scrim Installed, Sidewalk Fully Demolished at Site of Future ‘Coco’ Attraction at Disney California Adventure

The steady progress on Disneyland’s Coco boat ride continues as a large scrim wall has been installed and the sidewalk has been fully demolished.

From our view at Pixar Place Hotel, the site of the future Coco-themed attraction looks much different than it when we last visited. A large wall of green scrim now blocks ground-level views of the construction site. It extends from one end of the site and disappears behind a row of trees.

Behind the wall, there are still piles of rubble, and the bit of concrete that was part of the road has been removed.

The palm trees remain for now. We assume they will remain as they are outside the perimeter fence along Disneyland Drive.

Coco Ride

Concept art for the Coco boat ride coming to Disney California Adventure

The Coco ride remains fairly vague in its concept. Disney has only shared that guests will follow Miguel into the Land of the Dead, hear some of the movie’s iconic music, and see skeletal Audio-Animatronics characters. The only piece of revealed concept art indicates it will be a boat ride, and the construction site shows it will be part of Pixar Pier, located behind the Incredicoaster.
