Construction crews were actively working on the facade of Restaurantosaurus during our Monday, April 20 visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The quick-service restaurant is being transformed into a hacienda as part of the new Tropical Americas land.
Restaurantosaurus Construction
A crew member in a lift was working on a gable roof above a round section of the facade. This space was formerly a character meet and greet. Some of the fascia has been removed from the edge of the roof.
Some of the roofing has been removed from a large dormer (a windowed element that juts out from the main roof) on the building’s center section. Tarps cover the windows and sides of the dormer. Smaller dormers have tarps over their roofing.
Supports that once held a Restaurantosaurus sign remain on the larger dormer. The Airstream trailer was demolished a few weeks ago and there are still tarps over that wall.

The new Tropical Americas land, including an Indiana Jones ride and Encanto ride, will open in 2027.
