The Airstream trailer attached to Restaurantosaurus in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is no longer attached. It was marked for demolition a few weeks ago and is now gone.

Airstream Trailer Demolished

The Restaurantosaurus sign remains on the wall above the trailer’s former site. But now there’s a big hole in the wall where the trailer used to be. We could see straight through into the restaurant, where crew members were working.

The trailer was an extension of The Hip Joint dining room. Check out our last look at Restaurantosaurus for more.

We also saw crew members working atop one of the roofs of Restaurantosaurus. They had begun removing some of the old roofing.

The Restaurantosaurus buildings will remain in place but be transformed into a hacienda for the new Tropical Americas.

The other Restaurantosaurus sign was removed in March.

Tropical Americas Carousel

The framework in the foreground of these photos is next to the foundation of the new wood-carved carousel. Construction around the carousel went vertical this week. These poles next to the circular foundation now have some horizontal supports connecting them.

Also next to the carousel is a concrete block structure. More of it has been filled in since our update a few days ago, creating solid walls.

Some of the scaffolding has come down from the area as the new structures rise above it.

During our Thursday morning visit, an excavator was actively moving dirt near the carousel.

Tropical Americas Playground

A new playground will be constructed on the former Cretaceous Trail, where guests could once meet Daisy Duck, Chip, and Dale in dinosaur-inspired outfits. It looks like more trees have been cleared from the area while some trees are surrounded by temporary fencing, maybe marking them to be saved. Another excavator is in this area.

Tropical Americas is set to open in 2027 with a new Encanto ride and an Indiana Jones ride.
