Scaffolding has come down around the brand-new Space Mountain at Tokyo Disney Resort, which is under construction and set to open in 2027.
Scaffolding Down Space Mountain

Scaffolding has come down around Space Mountain. Work began on the construction site in 2022 and a groundbreaking ceremony was held in May 2023. The old Space Mountain closed in July 2024.

The attraction façade is now visible from the ground.

The coaster, rumored to be named Space Mountain: Earthrise, will be Disney’s most expensive ride ever. It will feature enhanced performance and immersive special effects.

The plaza is designed to express the connection between Earth and the universe, representing an image of a future where humans are in harmony with nature. After dark, the area will draw guests into a world of light and soundscapes.
