Walt Disney Imagineering is preparing to install new sets at The Magic of Disney Animation in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The new version of an old attraction is set to open this summer.

The Magic of Disney Animation Permit

A permit filed by Imagineering calls for Adirondack Scenic, Inc. to “Install set elements” at the attraction’s address.

Though there are no details in the permit, we know the building’s interior is being completely redone to transform it from Star Wars: Launch Bay into The Magic of Disney Animation. The exterior is also getting a Sorcerer Mickey hat facade.

Sets could be for any of the new meet and greets, the art class hosted by Olaf, or the Alice in Wonderland playground.

Construction progress has been steady at the Animation Courtyard site. The construction walls recently shifted, and crew members are working on the new marquee for The Magic of Disney Animation.

While the neighboring Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will open on May 26, Disney has not announced an opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation.
