Lost Continent is undergoing many changes, as crews work to remove thematic elements on arches and columns.
Lost Continent Demolition Update
Universal confirmed last year that Lost Continent in Islands of Adventure would be demolished to make way for new experiences. Construction walls went up in the area in recent weeks.
Aerial photographer bioreconstruct is able to provide a birds-eye-view of the area. Dirt has been leveled in some areas, while piles remain in others. Construction vehicles and other materials as work is scattered throughout the now-closed land.

Poseidon’s Fury looks mostly the same since our last update. Many of the thematic elements like the columns, large statues, and facade remain in tact as this time.
Poseidon’s Fury was in the Lost City area. It permanently closed in May 2023. Check out our last look at Poseidon’s Fury.

Most of the work has taken place at the theater that house Eighth Voyage of Sinbad, which sits to the left of Poseidon’s Fury.
In Sindbad’s Bazaar was the stunt stage show The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad. This closed in 2018, although the set remains fully intact and the theater has been used as a Cool Zone. The bazaar also has the interactive Mystic Fountain. This year How to Train Your Dragon took over Sindbad’s Bazaar in honor of the live-action remake’s release.

The columns have been stripped of their theming, revealing steel beams underneath. And, part of one of the arches is in the process of being removed. Only a portion of the blue and white design remains.

The Lost Continent used to include three sections: the medieval Merlinwood, an Arabian marketplace called Sindbad’s Bazaar, and the Atlantis-style Lost City.
