The latest photos from aerial photographer bioreconstruct on X show the full scope of coaster developments coming along at a steady pace.

Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift Construction Updates

Fast & Furious aerial update as of late April 2026

New aerial photos show continued construction progress on Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Florida, with additional coaster components staged backstage and more visible work around the attraction’s station and support buildings.

The upcoming coaster, which is replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, previously appeared to be in the early stages of vertical construction, with track and support pieces being delivered, sorted, and installed around the former attraction site. The ride is scheduled to open at Universal Studios Florida sometime in 2027.

New aerial views from bioreconstruct on X show a large backstage staging yard filled with coaster components. Rows of blue and gray steel tracks and support segments are now spread across the empty lot in organized groups, suggesting crews are preparing different sections of the ride structure for different phases installation.

Compared with earlier photos, the staging area appears more densely packed, with long, curved track pieces and support columns arranged in several distinct rows.

Closer to the main construction site, progress is also visible on the attraction’s maintenance building. The large gray building now has much of its roof in place, with light-colored panels covering most of the surface area.

The building appears to be moving further into the enclosure stage, with crews working around the perimeter and equipment staged nearby.

A portions of the coaster project has extended into the New York area of the park proper. The latest images show those construction zones continuing to fill in with additional equipment, steel, and site work at the corner of the Metropolis Tribune building, seen in the upper left of the above image.

The attraction’s main station building has also shown significant progress since our last update, with the structure slowly adding additional track, supports, and other enclosing elements. The coaster will run two tracks in a load/unload configuration into the main building.

Wider aerial views of the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit area show construction continuing across a broad footprint near the New York section of Universal Studios Florida and extending toward Hard Rock Cafe.

Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift is expected to use drifting coaster vehicles capable of rotating to simulate the motion of a vehicle sliding through turns. The first version of the attraction is set for Universal Studios Hollywood, while the Florida version will not be an exact duplicate but is expected to share similar themes and ride concepts.
