Special character appearances are returning to Walt Disney World for the second Cool Kids’ Summer. Though the event doesn’t officially start until May 26, we spotted some wandering characters in World Celebration Gardens at EPCOT on May 15, likely preparing for the daily summer offering.

Cool Kids’ Summer Characters at EPCOT

We spotted Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Daisy, as well as Mirabel and Bruno from Encanto. They were wandering the gardens early in the morning before heading off to their regular locations.

Last year, characters similarly made special appearances during early theme park entry for hotel guests. There are usually fewer guests at this time and official meet and greet locations open later, so the characters have freedom to roam.

Early morning meet and greets will probably happen at all four parks during Cool Kids Summer, which runs from May 26 through September 8, 2026. GoofyCore will return to EPCOT.

Soarin’ Across America will officially open on May 26. So will Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station (Disney’s Hollywood Studios), Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Walt Disney Studios Courtyard (Disney’s Hollywood Studios), and Jessie’s Roundup at Magic Kingdom.
