Epic Universe Continues Work on Nighttime Fireworks Show with Spotlight Installation

Epic Universe is installing spotlights behind the new fireworks launch pad, the roof of the Helios Grand Hotel, and in the Constellation Fountain that will be part of a large-scale nighttime show. The spotlights will act as backdrop and foreground lighting, creating effects in the sky to complement the fireworks.

@bioreconstruct shared photos of the significant number of spotlights that have been recently installed. Here, they have been added to the Constellation Fountain.

These spotlights were recently added at the base of the Constellation Carousel at the fountain. However, they have not yet been seen in operation in the park’s lighting or closing show.

This is one of the spotlights being added to the roof of Helios Grand Hotel, still wrapped in plastic and similar to the spotlights at Constellation Carousel, and on four rooftops in Epic Universe.

A close-up of the spotlights being installed behind the fireworks launch area reveals their immense size.

There are 12 of those large spotlights in development behind the fireworks launch island.

These spotlights were also captured by aerial photos of the site on May 8, as seen at bottom center in the above photo.

Though Epic Universe opened without a fireworks show, Universal indicated they were still exploring the possibility.

A nighttime fountain show was performed in the park instead, but the fountain was recently drained for electrical updates, presumably related to a new nighttime show.

Universal began hiring fireworks technicians this year.

Early concept art for Epic Universe also included fireworks, and fireworks were tested at the park before opening.

The potential show could be named “Celestial Goodnight,” according to a trademark filing.
