Disney’s next Bay Lake resort is looking less like a construction site and more like a future lakeside retreat.
Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update

Construction continues on Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the upcoming Disney Vacation Club resort being built along Bay Lake near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The new resort is taking shape on the former River Country site and is currently expected to open in 2027.
Our latest photos show progress across several major areas of the resort, including the large multi-story lodge building, the waterfront A-frame cabins, and the shoreline construction zones.

The main lodge building is visible from across the water with scaffolding still covering large sections of the exterior. Most of the exterior on both sides of the main lodge appears far along in construction, with windows, balcony railings, and exterior paneling already installed.

Notably, the A-frame cabins along the water also continue to look more complete, with all of the cabins appearing to have completed the bulk of exterior roofwork. The cabins are now shown totally covered from above, while some elements of the cabins were still under construction in our previous ground-level update.
A recent aerial update from bioreconstruct showed the broader scope of construction from above, including progress around the lazy river loop, the porte cochere and lobby area, the bus stop, and the waterfront Lake Houses.

Our latest look reveals more heavy machinery and construction materials staged throughout the site, including lifts, scaffolding, and construction vehicles around both the main lodge and waterfront buildings. One angle shows a crew member working from a boom lift on a nearby portion of the main building’s roof, while another shows a heavily scaffolded section of the main lodge where exterior installation is still underway.

Along the edge of the shoreline, at one end of the A-frame cabins, we also noted this 5G pole being installed for internet access.

From wider angles across Bay Lake, Disney Lakeshore Lodge now has a much stronger presence on the shoreline.
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

First announced in 2018, the resort was originally going to be called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but plans were stalled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Years later, after the resort was thought to be canceled, Disney began filing permits.
The Disney Vacation Club resort was then officially announced in 2024 with a new name, Lakeshore Lodge. The resort will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”
Just last month, we got our first look at new concept art for the resort and a narrower opening timeframe. Lakeshore Lodge is set to open sometime in the summer of 2027.
