The ongoing window work at Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows appears to be very nearly complete.
Windows & Door Work Approaching Completion for Polynesian Tower

In our latest visit to the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, it appears the bulk of the recent window work in the lobby is now complete.
Crews had previously been working on a section of the lobby-facing exterior where a set of doors was being converted into windows.

During our first look at the project in mid-April, rolling planters blocked the area from the outside, while a temporary wall and plastic sheeting covered the work zone inside. A Cast Member confirmed at the time that the doors were being changed to match the windows on the opposite side of the space.
In a later update, the doors had been removed and replaced with large window panes, though the area remained partially obscured by rolling planters. Temporary scrim was still visible inside, indicating that some finishing work remained.

While the rolling planters and the potted plants are still present across the exterior and interior areas, respectively, the window installation appears to be largely, if not completely, finished.
The completed section visually matches the adjacent windows, creating a more uniform look along this portion of the Island Tower exterior. The change is relatively small, but it helps clean up the appearance of the building’s ground-level facade.

During this latest visit, we also spotted crews actively working on the door adjacent to the updated windows. Two men appeared to be installing the wiring and other mechanisms required for an ADA-compliant automatic door.
Island Tower opened in December 2024 as the newest Disney Vacation Club addition at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The 10-story tower sits along Seven Seas Lagoon and includes more than 260 rooms, including duo studios, deluxe studios, one and two-bedroom villas, and penthouse villas.
Disney described the tower as being inspired by the Polynesian Islands, natural elements, and “Moana,” with original artwork and custom room details incorporated throughout the property.
Elsewhere at the Polynesian, work is underway on a variety of traffic flow changes and other guest amenities, including a new bus depot, which appears to be nearing completion itself.
