Monstropolis Theming Permits Filed for Former Muppets Store, Mama Melrose's

Walt Disney Imagineering filed two new permits for Monstropolis, the new Monsters, Inc. land under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, for set installation.

The two permits are for the following locations:

359 Cypress Drive (former Mama Melrose’s Ristorante)
361 Cypress Drive (former Stage 1 Company Store, otherwise known as the Muppets Store

The permit Adirondack Scenic, Inc. to “install set elements” at these locations. The permits expire a year from now. This company has worked with Disney before on rides like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, among several other projects.

Mama Melrose’s will be reimagined as Harryhausen’s, a restaurant seen in Monsters, Inc, while the Stage 1 Company Store was demolished in July 2025.
