An American icon, second only to the nearby Disney Park, is officially no more. Guests can rest assured that its replacement is fully operational right next door.
First Disney Village McDonald’s Officially Demolished

The original McDonald’s location at Disney Village has now been completely demolished, marking the end of a nearly 30-year-old staple of the Disneyland Paris shopping and dining district. The update comes courtesy of dlp.works on Instagram.
The former restaurant, which opened in January 1999, closed earlier this year as the new McDonald’s location next door prepared to take over operations. That new restaurant officially opened on February 18, 2026, and was described as the largest McDonald’s in France. The previous location was then slated for removal as Disney Village continued into its next phase of redevelopment.
In the latest view of the site, the former McDonald’s building is no longer standing. Construction walls remain in place along the guest walkway, with green, blue, and purple paneling blocking the lower portion of the site from view. Behind the walls, scaffolding wrapped in white scrim still surrounds the work area, obscuring the cleared demolition zone from guests walking through Disney Village.

Guests can see a more revealing angle of the work behind the white scrim – ironically – from the new McDonald’s next door that functionally replaced the original. From here, we can get a clear view of a white excavator shuffling mounds of debris from the demolished structure.

Disney has not announced what will ultimately replace the former restaurant, though previously referenced plans suggest a new street could eventually cut through the site toward a future, unannounced hotel.

The newer McDonald’s restaurant, which opened earlier this year, can be seen in the above photo to the left of the original location. The newer restaurant next door features a more contemporary design with wood accents, green and yellow tones, terrace seating, and landscaping elements.
The removal comes as Disney Village undergoes a broader transformation. Recent additions and changes have included the opening of Sports Bar & Lounge, the closure of Annette’s Diner for refurbishment, the permanent closure of the last Disney Store in France, and the debuts of Disney Style, Disney Glamour, Petite Rosalie, Deco by Disney, and a new LEGO Store.
