Police officers from around the country were denied entry to Disney Springs because they were wearing clothing with law enforcement logos.
Police Turned Away From Disney Springs

The officers were in Orlando for the IPTM Symposium on Traffic Safety. They told News 6 that security would not allow them to enter Disney Springs because they were wearing polos and other clothing featuring law enforcement logos that might confuse guests.
One anonymous officer said in a statement, “We were not allowed to enter wearing law enforcement related clothing. They said we could turn it inside out.”
“We’re here for a conference,” another officer said, reporting a similar experience. “We want to go enjoy the time that we have to meet new law enforcement officers from around the country.”
The conference later sent attendees a message telling them to wear plain clothes if they were visiting Disney Springs.
News 6 was there Wednesday night when Florida Lt. Governor Jay Collins went to Disney Springs to personally confront security. They also reached Disney representatives on Thursday for an explanation.
Disney said security was too conservative in deciding whether the clothing would confuse guests. Collins agreed that the situation was a misunderstanding of policy.
The conference organizers sent out another message telling attendees the issue was resolved.
Disney said they apologized and look forward to welcoming the guests who turned away in the future. But many officers told News 6 they are no longer interested in visiting Walt Disney World.
