Toy Story Land Showing Signs of Wear at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Some areas of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are beginning to show signs of natural weathering and aging, particularly around the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster and the oversized glider display near the exit of Toy Story Mania.

While the colorful land still remains one of the most visually striking areas at Walt Disney World, several props and themed elements are starting to show faded paint, scuffing, and surface wear from years of Florida sun, rain, humidity, and daily guest traffic.

One noticeable example can be found near the exit of Toy Story Mania, where the oversized “DynoGlide” toy glider display has visible fading and discoloration across several sections of the faux wood panels.

Some of the red detailing and printed graphics on the wings also appear worn compared to the vibrant look the prop originally had when Toy Story Land opened in 2018.

The large green toy soldiers posed around the glider still appear to be in good condition, though portions of the surrounding area show mild fading and weather exposure.

Additional wear can also be seen throughout portions of the Slinky Dog Dash coaster structure. Some of the oversized toy blocks and decorative elements around the attraction show minor fading, chipped paint, scuff marks, and dirt accumulation from years of outdoor exposure.

The colorful toy block structures remain highly detailed overall, though closer inspection reveals areas where a fresh coat of paint or refurbishment work could help restore some of the land’s original vibrant appearance.

Despite the cosmetic wear, Toy Story Land as a whole continues to remain well-maintained compared to many outdoor theme park environments, especially considering the intensity of Florida weather conditions and the amount of daily traffic the land receives.

Disney is typically proactive about touch-up work and refurbishment projects across Walt Disney World, often repairing or refreshing themed elements before issues become more significant. Smaller cosmetic updates like repainting and prop restoration are common throughout the parks and usually completed without major attraction closures.

The refurbishment of the entrance to Toy Story Mania, also in Toy Story Land, was completed earlier this year.

Disney also repaired recurring damage to Gertie the Dinosaur’s tail at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after the structure experienced cracking and eventually lost the tail entirely. The repair was completed with a more permanent-looking fix while the surrounding area remained operational.
