The updated “evergreen” Hondo Ohnaka preshow on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has officially arrived in Batuu West.
Updated Preshow Dialogue for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Disneyland

We reported on the updated preshow last weekend, and can confirm it’s now in place at both Batuu outposts. In the original Smugglers Run preshow, Hondo Ohnaka welcomes us to his operation and explains how we’ll be helping him. The Millennium Falcon arrives, Chewbacca appears onscreen, and Hondo greets him. Their one-sided dialogue reveals that a previous “win-win” arrangement allowed Hondo to borrow the Falcon to retrieve coaxium for the Resistance while he keeps the profits.

The updated dialogue removes references to the First Order and the Resistance, which allows the attraction to function within both Disneyland’s original trilogy and Hollywood Studios’ sequel trilogy timelines in the parks’ respective Galaxy’s Edge outposts.

It also implies that Hondo is temporarily stealing the Falcon from Chewie for our use on the mission.

And, while the preshow has been updated just before the attraction’s first new mission since it opened in 2019, it makes no mention of the Mandalorian or any mission specifics (other than Hondo’s singular focus of “profit,” of course). Therefore, this new preshow dialogue is most likely a permanent change to Smugglers Run, as it can work with any storyline — meaning we may see more new missions added to the ride in the future.

The updated Smugglers Run preshow has also arrived in Batuu East, a.k.a. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
