Walt Disney World Lakeshore Lodge Construction Moves Forward With Roofing, Scaffolding, and Cabin Work

Construction is continuing across Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the new Disney Vacation Club resort currently taking shape along Bay Lake at Walt Disney World.

Lakeshore Lodge Construction Progress

During our latest visit to the upcoming Lakeshore Lodge and general Fort Wilderness area, the large multi-story lodge building remains surrounded by scaffolding in several areas as crews continue exterior work.

Portions of the building now feature installed windows and balcony railings, the latter of which we spotted in our last update, while other sections still show exposed yellow sheathing and unfinished facade elements.

The roofline is also progressing, with several angled and overhanging roof structures visible on top of the main building.

The smaller A-frame cabins are also taking shape closer to the waterfront. These buildings feature steeply pitched dark roofs and wood-toned accents. Some appear further along than others, with exterior walls, windows, and roof finishes already installed, while nearby areas remain active construction zones with lifts, fencing, materials, and temporary barriers still in place.

Work is also visible on surrounding site areas, including the resort’s bus depot, shoreline construction, utility work, and general material staging. Heavy equipment, scaffolding, and active crews remain present as vertical development is still underway throughout the property.

Construction also continues to make steady progress along the distinct entrance porte cochere.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

First announced in 2018, the resort was originally going to be called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but plans were stalled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Years later, after the resort was thought to be canceled, Disney began filing permits.

The Disney Vacation Club resort was then officially announced in 2024 with a new name, Lakeshore Lodge. The resort will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

Just last month, we got our first look at new concept art for the resort and a narrower opening timeframe. Lakeshore Lodge is set to open sometime in the summer of 2027.
