The former Disney CEO has revealed he met with the pop culture phenomenon at some point earlier this year, thanks to her featured work on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack.

Bob Iger shared a photo with Taylor Swift on Instagram, revealing that the two met earlier this year during one of his final days as CEO of The Walt Disney Company.

The photo shows Swift and Iger striking a casual pose in what appears to be one of The Walt Disney Company’s offices.

In the post description, keeping things short and sweet, Iger wrote:

“Thank you Taylor! One of my last days as CEO of Disney and a truly memorable one!”

Given the timing of Toy Story 5‘s release and Iger’s comment of “last days as CEO” – his “last days” being the first few weeks of March 2026 – it’s likely this photo was taken sometime in the first three months of the year.

The post comes as Swift’s connection to Disney and Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 5 became official earlier today. After much speculation and a Toy Story-coded countdown, a series of CD singles were released this afternoon on taylorswift.com.

The CDs feature various versions of an original song titled “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the film, with the track set to release June 5 ahead of the movie’s June 19 theatrical debut.

As of this post, all three CDs have already sold out online.

Later in the day, Swift added her own side of the story on Instagram:

It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠
You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and @pixar’s @toystory 5 will be yours on June 5th. I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?

Naturally, fans were already suspicious before the official announcement. Recent Toy Story 5 marketing fueled speculation with “TS” billboards, cloud imagery, and other details that fans quickly connected to Swift.

At one point, the rumors seemed to be cooling after director Andrew Stanton pushed back on the idea that Swift had recorded the film’s end-credit song, only for the Swiftie speculation machine to resume operating at industrial strength once more clues appeared.

Swift has worked with Disney before, including a display of her Eras Tour costumes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the release of her documentary on Disney+.
