Walt Disney Imagineering shared an up-close look at some of the details of the new covered queue of Tower of Terror at Disneyland Paris on Instagram. The Patio opened in March, three years after being announced.

The space is designed as the hotel’s former terrace and pool. It’s inspired by Pueblo Deco architecture featuring an oak timber frame, bronze-finish details, and warm-toned roof tiles typical of the Spanish Revival style.

There are weathered and broken details, like a faded parasol. The former swimming pool was drained and filled with concrete, but the original mosaic border remains on the ground. The other flooring includes natural stone and terracotta tiling.

Overturned chairs, spilled drinks, and broken statues point to hotel guests leaving in a hurry and the space falling into disrepair. Look closely at one table, you’ll see the words “Take the stairs” scrawled in the spilled cocktail.

Aging effects and cracks were painted by hand. The onyx lanterns sometimes flicker. And posters advertising the hotel include a mangled music staff resembling elevator cables.

The Tower of Terror is located in the newly renamed Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris. A new Tower of Terror gift shop also opened earlier this year.
