Mark Ruffalo Starring in Gatto
Spanish-language streaming network OLGA broke the news in a video (below) from their trip to Pixar’s California campus. Hosts Sofi Morandi and Migue Granados sat down with Pixar Set Designer Gaston Ugarte, who briefly spoke about Gatto and said Ruffalo is voicing Nero, the film’s cat protagonist.
Ruffalo is known for playing Bruce Banner / Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with The Avengers (2012). His other famous projects include 13 Going on 30 (2004), Zodiac (2007), Shutter Island (2010), The Kids Are All Right (2010), Spotlight (2015), Poor Things (2023), and more.
Ugarte also praised the film’s hand-painted illustration style, a new look for Pixar’s feature films.

Gatto is directed by Enrico Casarosa and produced by Andrea Warren, the team behind Luca (2021). It brings audiences back to Italy, this time to Venice, where Nero the cat is forced to forge an unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose.
The Gatto teaser trailer will debut with Toy Story 5, which releases on June 19, 2026. Gatto will be in theaters on March 5, 2027. The film will also be previewed, along with Disney’s Hexed, at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival later this month.
