Construction is progressing quickly on Magic Kingdom’s fourth ferryboat, although it is not scheduled to enter service until next year. Aerial photos by @bioreconstruct on X show the boat’s hull coming together.

The boat arrived in pieces at Walt Disney World and construction began in May. Disney said it will take another year to assemble the pieces, paint, and add final touches. The boat’s shape is now clear as assembly of the first floor nears an end.

A short crane and lift were parked next to the boat when bio flew over. It’s currently being constructed next to a service building, which could be moved inside later on during the construction process.

For comparison, above is the boat as of this week compared to mid-May. It’s being constructed in a marina to the north of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

The marina is home to the Liberty Belle, which closed permanently last summer and was removed from Magic Kingdom.

The fourth ferryboat will be named after Meg Gilbert Crofton, the fourth president of Walt Disney World. The existing boats are named the Admiral Joe Fowler, the General Joe Potter, and the Richard F. Irvine.

Construction also recently began on an expansion of the Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock.
