Steel I-Beams Installed for Harryhausen’s Facade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Crews have installed the beginnings of a framework for Harryhausen’s facade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Monsters, Inc. restaurant replaces Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, part of a new Monstropolis land.

A set of I-beams jut out from the former Mama Melrose's facade. Most of the facade was stripped, but the Mona Lisa mural on one side still remains.

The Gonzo's Royal Flush building has new paneling across its front and sides. This facade was also largely stripped, and new insulation was installed earlier this month. Round details are visible on the new paneling that weren't part of the old facade, pictured below.

A brick building labeled "Gonzo's Royal Flush" sits in Muppet Courtyard at Disney's Hollywood Studios under a cloudy sky.

The building houses bathrooms, which are connected to the former PizzeRizzo. The quick-service restaurant will also be rethemed, but details haven’t been announced.
