Universal has filed a permit that indicates the Dark Universe expansion in Epic Universe is a large one: 71,500 square feet to be exact.
New Epic Universe Attraction

The permit (#B26903939), filed earlier this month, is a new construction permit with Stantec Architecture, LTD as the contractor. The tenant space is listed at 71,500 square feet. To put that into perspective, it’s roughly the same size as the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The permit does not indicate what kind of attraction this is. However, past concept art does show a large enclosed building that never made it to the opening of the park. Pictured below, it’s near the top left area of the image. This could be anything from a new ride to a live show.

A permit for Dark Universe site work was filed back in March, removed, and then re-filed.
Mass grading, utility points of connection, and re-routes for early work purposes of a future attraction known as Project 680.
Universal executives have teased an expansion to Epic Universe — although they avoided the word in official press releases. They have not made any official announcements about a new attraction in Dark Universe.
Other permits filed for Epic Universe indicate The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic may also receive an expansion.
