After almost a full week, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is still struggling to provide adequate air conditioning to portions of the resort.
Wilderness Lodge AC Outage Update

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is still dealing with air conditioning issues during the extreme Florida June heat.
The air conditioning outage was first reported on Thursday, with guests sharing that the main building of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge became extremely warm in the guest rooms, the lobby, dining areas, and other indoor spaces.
Comments on social media throughout the weekend indicated that some guest rooms reached the low 80s, with others reporting even higher temperatures during the worst of the outage. The outage comes at a time when Walt Disney World and the surrounding Central Florida area have been experiencing heat index values around or above 100 degrees.

As of Sunday morning, June 21, guest reports indicated the air conditioning had not been fully restored across the entire resort. Instead, the issue appeared to be in a partial recovery phase, with some rooms cooling back down while other areas remain uncomfortably warm. One Facebook user reported that they were told Disney has deployed temporary, smaller AC units to cool portions of the main building.
The Boulder Ridge Villas, a separate, newer building from the main building, reportedly have not experienced AC issues during this period.

The main lodge building continues to be the center of the ongoing issue. Several portable air conditioning units were spotted during an on-site visit by our reporter today.

Even with the portable units, the air was stuffy and not pleasant. Guests are reporting that the rooms have been cooler, but the main resort building remains stifling and stuffy.

Box fans have been placed for Cast Members and guests at the check-in desk and Wilderness Lodge Mercantile.
Cast Members are working to mitigate the outage while engineering teams continue to address the issue.
Some guests have reported receiving refunds or comped nights. Other guests have been offered transfers to other Walt Disney World Resort hotels, including Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.
Disney has not publicly confirmed the cause of the outage or announced a resolution time frame.
Guests currently staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, or checking in soon, may want to contact Disney directly for the most current information about their specific room assignment and available options if they want to adjust their reservation.
