Disney Vacation Club has made an unannounced name change for two swimming pools planned for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.
Lakeside Lagoon Renamed as Lakeshore Lagoon

The resort’s primary feature pool, first introduced as Lakeside Lagoon, is now called Lakeshore Lagoon. Disney has not publicly announced the changes or explained why the original names were replaced.
The revised names appear in Disney Parks Blog’s “Letters from Lakeshore” series, last updated on June 17. The updated text identifies Lakeshore Lagoon as the zero-entry feature pool located at the center of The Wetlands, the resort’s expansive outdoor recreation complex. The pool will accommodate guests of all ages and include a spiral waterslide.
Despite the change to the body text, evidence of the previous name remains in the post. The filename for the concept art displayed directly above the pool’s description is still “Lakeside Lagoon at Disney Lakeshore Lodge.”
The updated name, of course, more directly connects the pool with the Lakeshore Lodge resort name, so it’s easy to understand the motivation behind the change or the plausibility of human error in the original text.
Perspective Pond Renamed as Cypress Point

On the opposite side of the resort, the quieter Perspective Pond area has been renamed Cypress Point, a more significant departure from the original label.
Cypress Point will include a leisure pool and whirlpool spa. Its location is expected to give guests views of the nighttime fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
The latest update does not include concept art specifically for Cypress Point, but Disney describes the area as being “tucked away” from the main recreation complex, providing a more relaxed alternative to the activity surrounding Lakeshore Lagoon and the nearby lazy river.
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

First announced in 2018, the resort was originally going to be called Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but plans were stalled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Years later, after the resort was thought to be canceled, Disney began filing permits.
The Disney Vacation Club resort was then officially announced in 2024 with a new name, Lakeshore Lodge. The resort will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”
In April, we got our first look at new concept art for the resort and a narrower opening timeframe. Lakeshore Lodge is set to open sometime in the summer of 2027.
