The fourth Magic Kingdom ferry, called The Meg Gilbert Crofton, is under construction, and the top deck has been added to the existing hull and first deck.

Thanks to photos from photographer bioreconstruct, we now have an updated look at the construction progress. Since our last update, the top deck has been added. There are two square openings where stairs will be added later.

Several ladders are placed in and around the ferry so crews can easily access hard-to-reach places. A crane, two smaller construction vehicles, and other ferry pieces are staged around it.
The boat arrived in pieces at Walt Disney World and construction began in May. Disney said it will take another year to assemble the pieces, paint, and add final touches.
The fourth ferryboat will be named after Meg Gilbert Crofton, the fourth president of Walt Disney World. The existing boats are named the Admiral Joe Fowler, the General Joe Potter, and the Richard F. Irvine.

Nearby, the Liberty Belle still sits in the marina north of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It used to travel through Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom before Disney demolished the area to make way for Piston Peak National Park.
Construction also recently began on an expansion of the Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock.
