Work continues steadily at Monstropolis, where the clock tower is currently being painted, and an X-beam is in place at the forthcoming Harryhausen’s.

Monstropolis Updates

During a visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, July 24, we spotted a crew member painting up near the top of the clock tower on the soon-to-be Glob Theatre.

We can also clearly see the brickwork again on the outside of the theater. A section of the brick in the middle is gray compared to the rest of the rust-colored bricks around it.

We’re also able to see steel structures now on the top floor of the former Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano.

Speaking of Mama Melrose’s, an X-beam is being put in place nearby as well for the restaurant becoming Harryhausen’s resembling the chopsticks above the entrance:

The window archway details we’ve noted in previous updates on the restrooms building are covering much of what we can see now. Altogether from a broad view, the building is looking much different than its former self.

Monstropolis

Monstropolis will be the first land based on Monsters, Inc. at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney recently revealed that the land’s story will center on H.U.M.A.N. Day, short for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice,” a celebration welcoming humans into Monstropolis after the events of the original film.

The project includes the Monsters, Inc. door coaster, Harryhausen’s, and The Glob theater. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for Monstropolis.
