During the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, “chalk” images of classic Disney characters are hidden all over World Showcase, and sometimes other locations in the park. These images of part of Chalk Full of Character, a kind of scavenger hunt activity. There isn’t a prize if you find every character image, but the decorations add a touch of magic to the festival, and it’s fun to look for them all.

Here is how Walt Disney World describes Chalk Full of Character on the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts webpage:

Look for charming chalk drawings of Disney characters around World Showcase.

From Abu to Jiminy Cricket, an array of familiar faces wait to be discovered. How many can you find?

The locations of the characters are subject to change without notice. We saw this last year when the Mickey Mouse decal was accidentally knocked off its wall and later placed in a new location. We’ve compiled the full list of characters and their locations below — so stop reading if you want to do all the searching yourself. Some of the characters are returning in the same or similar locations, while some are new.

Groot – World Discovery

At least one character is not in World Showcase. Young Groot from “Guardians of the Galaxy” can be found in World Discovery, on the wall outside Connections Eatery, near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Groot is standing on a vine, using his arms to seemingly create the nearby hedge.

Dante (x2) – Mexico Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8109

There are two images of Miguel’s loyal dog, Dante, from “Coco” on the façade of the Mexico Pavilion. They can be found on either side of the main trance doors.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8108

To the left of the main entrance is an image of Dante in his normal dog form.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8105

Dante is a Xoloitzcuintli, a.k.a. Xolo, a type of hairless dog found in Mexico. Like real Xolos, Dante is thin and mostly gray. He has a long pink tongue and a black nose.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8101

To the right of the entrance is Dante in his alebrije form. In Mexico, alebrijes are colorful sculptures of mythical creatures. In “Coco,” the alebrijes are also real animals that guide people in the Land of the Dead.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8104

Dante looks like a normal dog in the Land of the Living, but in the Land of the Dead, he can transform into an alebrije.

Snowgies – Norway Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8111

A group of Snowgies are playing on the faux wood planks on the side of a roof near the pavilion’s restrooms.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8112

In “Frozen Fever,” Elsa creates the “Snowgies” when she sneezes. They are small mischievous snowmen who end up living in Elsa’s ice palace with Marshmallow, the giant snow monster Elsa created in “Frozen.” Marshmallow and the Snowgies appear on Frozen Ever After, the ride in the Norway Pavilion.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8113

The Snowgies, along with Marshmallow, also make a cameo appearance in the end credits of “Frozen II.”

Bruni – Norway Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8117

Bruni, the fire spirit lizard from “Frozen II,” can be found in this outdoor fireplace near the pavilion’s outdoor seating.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8116

Bruni is a blue-purple lizard with a streak of pink-red flame running from his head to his tail. He appears to be sitting on a pile of logs inside the fireplace.

Little Brother – China Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8120

Mulan’s dog Little Brother is standing on a wall above a bench outside the House of Good Fortune. He’s reaching for a bone hanging from a stick sitting below one of the windows. In the film, Mulan attaches this stick and dog bone to Little Brother’s back so he chases the bone — dragging chicken feed behind him.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8121

Little Brother is a tan dog with a large brown spot on his back, brown ears, and a brown tail. He wears a blue collar.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8122

Little Brother was voiced by Chris Sanders, who later voiced Stitch in “Lilo & Stitch,” which he also directed. In the original “Ballad of Mulan,” the folk hero has an actual little brother, which may be where the dog gets his name.

Mushu and Cri-Kee – China Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8139

Mushu and Cri-Kee are also in the China Pavilion, on a wall near the lagoon, next to The Painted Panda. The wall appears broken, as though Mushu has accidentally broken a hole in it.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8141

Mushu is pointing at Cri-Kee to shift the blame.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8140

Mushu is a small red dragon, while Cri-Kee is a lucky blue and purple cricket.

Pascal (x3) – Germany Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8125

Pascal is hiding in three different spots of the Germany Pavilion. First, he’s hanging onto the side of a drainage pipe outside Karamell-Küche. He’s using his long tongue to catch a piece of caramel corn.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8126

Pascal is a chameleon. He usually appears as green, but can change colors to blend into his surroundings. He’s Rapunzel’s best friend in the “Tangled” franchise.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8130

We spotted Pascal again near the pavilion’s restrooms. He’s perched on a brick at the edge of this building, using his tail to paint a yellow sun on the wall.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8131

The sun is a symbol of Rapunzel and her kingdom, Corona, and appears on lanterns and flags. The sun that Pascal is painting isn’t exactly the same as the usual symbol, but has a similar shape.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8136

We spotted the last Pascal hiding in the painted sign for Volkskunst Clocks and Crafts. He’s blending in with the “o” of “Clocks” above the shop’s door.

Luca, Alberto, and Machiavelli – Italy Pavilion

Alberto is kicking water at Luca above this pair of water fountains at the Italy Pavilion. A purple crab is also below the water fountains.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 chalk full of characters 1385

Machiavelli, the Marcovaldo family’s cat, is pictured to the left on the brick wall.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 chalk full of characters 1381

Machiavelli is a white and brown cat. He’s giving Luca and Alberto a suspicious look.

Pixar’s “Luca” was first released on Disney+ on June 18, 2021. “Luca” will finally be released theatrically on March 22, 2024.

Meeko and Flit – The American Adventure – NEW

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8004

A new chalk decal this year features Meeko the raccoon and Flit the hummingbird, Pocahontas’ animal companions. They are on a white column near the Art of Disney store at The American Adventure.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8001

Meeko looks like he’s hanging onto the pillar, reaching up to try to grab a cookie from Flit flying above him. Meeko is a gray and black raccoon, while Flit is teal green, white, and pink.

Gelatoni and Duffy – Japan Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8008

Gelatoni and Duffy can be seen at the Japan Pavilion. They’re high up on a wall outside the Mitsukoshi store. Look for them above a wooden beam.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8011

It looks like Gelatoni is showing Duffy how to paint. Gelatoni is a cat artist who wears a beret. Duffy is a sailor bear. Paint cans are around them and a Mickey made of pawprints is on the beam below them.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8010

Duffy the Disney Bear was first created for the Once Upon a Toy shop at Downtown Disney District (now Disney Springs) in Walt Disney World in 2002. Tokyo Disney Resort adopted the bear a couple of years later and he became much more popular overseas. Several friends of Duffy have been introduced over the years, including Gelatoni, who debuted at Tokyo DisneySea in 2014.

Chef – Japan Pavilion

Chef, from Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.,” is on the wall near the water in the back of the pavilion.

Abu – Morocco Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8017

Aladdin’s monkey companion is trying to steal a pot in the Morocco Pavilion. He can be found by this green door inside the pavilion.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8019

Abu carries a sack full of goodies. In “Aladdin,” Abu is voiced by Frank Welker, who also voices Rajah and the Cave of Wonders. Welker reprised all three voice roles for the 2019 live-action remake.

Abu wasn’t the first monkey Welker voiced. He also had an uncredited voice role as the Capuchin monkey in “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

Uncle Waldo, Abigail, and Amelia – France Pavilion – NEW

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 1395

These three geese from “The Aristocats” are on a stone wall near the water of the France Pavilion. Each goose wears a different colored hat so you can easily identify them. Uncle Waldo has a green top hat, Amelia has a pink bonnet, and Abigail has a blue bonnet.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 1397

When the main characters of “The Aristocats” encounter Uncle Waldo, he’s drunk, and it looks like he hasn’t sobered up for his chalk drawing. He’s depicted sitting with his eyes half-closed.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 1399

Abigail and Amelia, Uncle Waldo’s nieces, are judging him from afar. In the film, the twins help rescue Thomas O’Malley from a river and then escort the cats the rest of the way to Paris, where they run into Uncle Waldo. Finding him in his sorry state, they depart from the cats to take care of him.

Uncle Waldo, Amelia, and Abigail were voiced, respectively, by Bill Thompson (in his final film role), Carole Shelley, and Monica Evans.

Remy and Emile – France Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8032

Rat brothers Remy and Emile are on this wall leading into the “Ratatouille” section of the France Pavilion.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8595

Remy, a gray rat, is running along the edge of this wall. His brother Emile is a brown rat, pictured on a column with a snack.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8034

In “Ratatouille,” Patton Oswalt voices Remy and Peter Sohn voices Emile.

Merlin and Arthur – United Kingdom Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8050

In the back gardens of the U.K. Pavilion, four squirrels are pictured on these white columns. The blue one on the far left is Merlin, while Arthur is in the center with a lovestruck red squirrel. Another red squirrel, pining after the first, is on the right column.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8053

In “The Sword in the Stone,” Merlin transforms himself and Arthur (a.k.a. Wart) into squirrels to teach the squire about gravity. Merlin also transforms into several different animals during his duel with Madam Mim.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8052

While in squirrel form, a female squirrel falls in love with Arthur.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8055

The film recently turned 60 years old, an anniversary commemorated by limited edition and release pins available at Disney Parks.

“The Great Mouse Detective” Characters – United Kingdom Pavilion – NEW

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8058

On this façade facing the back gardens of the U.K. Pavilion are new decals of “The Great Mouse Detective” characters. There are two decals, one on either side of a second-story window. They depict the film’s climactic battle above London.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8059

To the left is Basil the detective, Dr. Dawson, and toymaker Hiram Flaversham in an airship made from a matchbox and Union Jack. They’re chasing the evil Professor Ratigan, who is in his dirigible with Hiram’s daughter, Olivia. His bat sidekick, Fidget, is on the back of the dirigible.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8060

“The Great Mouse Detective” is based on the “Basil of Baker Street” book series by Eve Titus. Basil and Dawson are the mice counterparts of the famous Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson from Arthur Conan Doyle’s books and short stories. In the film and books, Basil and Dawson live in the walls of 221B Baker Street, the residence of Holmes and Watson.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8061

Basil was named after actor Basil Rathbone, who portrayed Sherlock Holmes in several films. An archive audio clip of Rathbone as Holmes appears in “The Great Mouse Detective.” In Doyle’s “The Adventure of Black Peter,” Holmes also uses the name Basil as an alias.

Peter Pan’s Shadow – United Kingdom Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8064

As you’re passing by The Toy Soldier gift shop, make sure to look up. Peter Pan’s Shadow is peering into a bay window beneath a clock.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8065

The shadow is a key plot point in “Peter Pan” as it stays behind in the Darling nursery, leading Peter to come looking for it, which wakes up Wendy and her brothers. Wendy helps Peter reattach his shadow and then joins him on an adventure in Never Land.

Last year for Chalk Full of Characters, the U.K. Pavilion also had chalk murals of “Robin Hood” characters and the broom dog from “Alice in Wonderland.” However, the spots where they would be are currently blocked off by construction.

Koda – Canada Pavilion

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8069

In the Canada Pavilion, guests can look for Koda from “Brother Bear” catching a fish by the river. He’s on a column of the bridge near the Le Cellier entrance, visible from the other side of the water and gardens.

EPCOT FOTA 2024 Chalk Full of Characters 8070

Koda is a small brown grizzly bear who befriends Kenai during the events of “Brother Bear.” He’s voiced by Jeremy Suarez. Suarez returned to voice Koda in “Brother Bear 2,” a direct-to-video sequel released three years after the original.

The Canada Pavilion also had Mei from “Turning Red” and Bao from “Bao” last year for Chalk Full of Characters but, like at the U.K. Pavilion, construction is blocking their usual spots.
