The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros has officially reponed in the Mexico Pavilion following its months-long refurbishment, and the ride has been refreshed with brighter lighting and refreshed scenes.

Gran Fiesta Tour Officially Reopens

Under a clear blue sky, the exterior of a building styled as an ancient temple beckons with its new lighting enhancements. A sign for "Gran Fiesta Tour" features characters in front, inviting visitors up the refurbished steps to the entrance.

The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros has been closed for refurbishment in EPCOT since January 6, 2025. The attraction attempted to soft-open yesterday, March 14, but the operations were stopped due to some technical issues. Today, a majority of the technical problems have been resolved, and the attraction has been restored to its usual operations.

One of the first changes we noticed since the refurbishment is the volcano effect on the back wall of Plaza de los Amigos.

The mural, featuring a volcanic eruption with smoke and lava under a blue sky, is part of a refreshed scene. In the foreground, a rope barrier and decorative light fixture add to the ambiance, reminiscent of an artistic touch seen on the Gran Fiesta Tour.

The smoke emerging from the top of the volcano is now much more visible against the dark wall at the back of the pavilion. Our reporter also thinks there is a bit more smoke present in the scene than previously.

Moving to the main attraction, most of the main issues we noticed yesterday during the soft opening have been resolved.

Characters on a flying carpet glide gracefully past the decorative building with its iconic bell tower, their journey echoing the vibrant spirit of the Gran Fiesta Tour, as colorful architecture and sculptures bask in newly enhanced lighting.

Many of the scenes have been refreshed with a fresh coat of paint, and the screens also appear nice and bright.

The props in scenes surrounding the attraction boats have also been refreshed, so the attraction is looking much more colorful than it has been for the past few months prior to its closure.

Under soft lighting, a stone fountain with flowing water is surrounded by vibrant flower arrangements in pots, set under arched openings adorned with decorative foliage. It's as if the scene has undergone a stunning refurbishment to match the splendor of a Gran Fiesta Tour.

Our reporter also noted that the lighting in several of the non-screen-based scenes is much brighter than previously, allowing a better look at some of the physical props and sets.

The only issue from the soft opening that we noticed has not been resolved is this one dancing doll on the left side of the boat. Usually this female dancer spins in a circle, but the doll is still stationary. The turning head of the boy doll nearby has been fixed since yesterday.

Two animatronic figures in traditional attire stand behind a xylophone on the Gran Fiesta Tour, their vibrant display enhanced by playful lighting that adds to the ride's whimsical charm.

As we noticed during the soft opening, the two dolls playing the Marimba have returned to their old location. These dolls are located near the scene where Donald looses his bathing suit, and they had been missing for several months prior to the refurbishment.

On the vibrant stage of the Gran Fiesta Tour, three animated bird characters delight with their performance. The central one, donning a sombrero and maraca, captivates the audience while his companions skillfully play refurbished instruments.

The animatronics for all of the Three Caballeros are also working properly once again and serenaded us with their festive music.

Finally, the paint on the mural near the end of the attraction has been refreshed. As with the other scenes, the lights in this section are also much brighter, making the mural easier to see.
