The Beak and Barrel, a Pirates of the Caribbean themed lounge coming to Magic Kingdom, was supposed to open its reservations today. After a series of technical difficulties, including the reservation system crashing, it has been officially delayed until next week.

A new message on the webpage for The Beak and Barrel reads:

Arrgh! Too many pirates tried to pillage at The Beak and Barrel. Thank you for yer patience. Come back for the treasure ye seek when reservations set sail the week of August 18, 2025.

The Beak and Barrel will open next to Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland on Friday, August 29. It replaces The Pirates League. The tavern will be open during the after-hours Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Reservations for the Christmas party are set to open in a few weeks.

The bar features a new character named Rummy, inspired by the attraction’s original Barker Bird. Rummy is first mate to Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, the bar’s proprietor. Rummy will share tales of piracy and lead guests in rousing toasts as he walks along the bar in The Mess, the venue’s central space. A second room will be the Captain’s Quarters, featuring miniature bottled ships that come to life and engage in battle.

Similar to Oga’s Cantina, The Beak and Barrel guests will only have a 45-minute window to enjoy drinks and dine. The restaurant will offer food items and cocktails for guests ages 21 and up. Check out the full menu for The Beak and Barrel and The Beak and Barrel merchandise.
