With celebrations taking place in the parks, and merchandise/food items being released constantly in stores across the nation, Mickey’s 90th Anniversary has certainly proven to be an unavoidable occasion. Today, we continue our coverage of “Mickey Mania” with a look at this charming series of Hot Wheels that feature Mickey Mouse in some of his most iconic moments in history.
This eight-car set begins with the Steamboat Willie and goes all the way up to the latest Mickey Mouse art style (the same look being used for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway). All eight cars are different models used to reflect the time period of the art style. The Steamboat Willie car is a ’32 Ford, then there’s the Mickey’s Garden car (’57 Plymouth Fury), The Brave Little Tailor (Avant Garde), The Band Concert (Covelight), Fantasia (’40 Ford Coupe), The Prince and the Pauper (Torque Twister), The Mickey Mouse Club (Rocket Box), and finally there’s the current Mickey Mouse (Bread Box).
Unfortunately, the series is hard to find online, unless you go the secondhand route, but we were able to find a handful of them at our local Wal-Mart.
These 1:64 die-cast cars look great in person, and are quite a good deal at $1.27 a car.
Have you been able to get your hands on any of these neat collectables?
I have the Fantasia one! My boyfriend got it for me because Sorcerer Mickey is my favorite version of Mickey :) Never saw any of the other cars in this set
These Hot Wheels cars were sold in Mexico about three, four months ago. I bought several.
