Crews are working on the facades of the former Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and they have removed some of the paneling that was there previously.
MuppetVision 3D Theater

The facade of the show building is getting a Monstropolis retheme, and crews have been working at the very top of the building for the majority of the week.

Crew members continue to work on the archways of the larger section of the building. They are wrapped in some sort of plastic cover. This is the area that holds the actual theater, while the brick facade is the entrance and queue.

Paneling underneath the archways was removed since our last update. Crews have been working to remove facade details that were specific to Muppets Courtyard.
This pair of archways is in the Monstropolis concept art, below, but will possibly be redone to better match the new monstrous theming.

The concept art shows green monster-inspired trim and decorations on the theater. New faux windows on the building make it look like the theater is up against a series of apartments.
Disney is spending $22.4 million to renovate the theater. They have not announced what the new show inside will be.
Gonzo’s Royal Flush Restrooms

After prop pipes were removed from the Gonzo’s Royal Flush facade, fascia was removed from part of the roof’s edge. Crews are currently cutting openings on the side of the building and also removing brick.
This building houses the area’s restrooms. It will be renovated and reused as part of the Monstropolis reimagining.

There are a total of four cranes/lifts working at the construction site to work simultaneously on these projects.
Meanwhile, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is becoming Harryhausen’s from Monsters, Inc. A fire safety permit for the restaurant was filed not too long ago. PizzeRizzo will be similarly renovated to become a new quick-service restaurant.
