ESPN is planning a massive beachfront presence in Southern California for Super Bowl LXI, transforming Santa Monica Beach into a week-long hub for broadcasts, fan activities, and live entertainment experiences. It’s all part of Disney’s “Year of the Super Bowl.”
ESPN Beach Coming to Santa Monica for Super Bowl LXI
As part of its coverage plans for Super Bowl LXI, ESPN announced it will create “ESPN Beach,” a large-scale broadcast and fan destination located on Santa Monica Beach near the historic Santa Monica Pier.
The beachfront compound will serve as ESPN’s central hub for Super Bowl week programming and content, featuring live television broadcasts, digital coverage, social media content, and fan-focused experiences throughout the week leading up to the game.
Super Bowl LXI, set for February 14, 2027, will air on ESPN and ABC and marks the first time ESPN will produce and broadcast the Super Bowl.
According to ESPN, the Santa Monica setup is designed to go beyond a traditional broadcast compound by blending television production with immersive fan experiences and Disney brand activations.
Daily ESPN programming, including studio shows airing from morning through primetime, will broadcast from multiple beachside sets throughout Super Bowl week beginning Monday, February 8. ABC programming will also have a presence at the location.
In addition to the television broadcasts, ESPN Beach will feature free fan experiences and activities on and around the Santa Monica Pier. ESPN says guests can expect interactive games, immersive experiences, food offerings, themed merchandise, and additional entertainment tied to ESPN, ABC, Disney, and the Super Bowl itself.
The company also confirmed that Disneyland Resort will be part of its broader Southern California Super Bowl footprint, alongside additional locations across the Los Angeles area.
While ESPN Beach will anchor much of the week’s festivities, the majority of ESPN’s Super Bowl Sunday pregame coverage will originate from and around SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Disney and ESPN say more details surrounding ESPN Beach and additional Super Bowl week experiences will be announced closer to the event.
The ESPN Beach experience is part of Disney and ESPN’s larger “Year of the Super Bowl” initiative leading up to Super Bowl LXI in 2027. The company has already announced yearlong programming featuring Disney Parks, character appearances, original storytelling series, podcasts, and additional fan experiences tied to ESPN’s first-ever Super Bowl broadcast.
