Red Rail Installed, More Construction Progress at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure

Construction continues to progress at Disney California Adventure for the Avengers Campus expansion, with the latest changes including a new rail being installed.

Avengers Campus Construction Update

New bathrooms are being installed as part of the land expansion, and since our last update, the weathered exterior has scaffolding surrounding it again.

We also saw crew members working on top of the white canopy.

The biggest change we noticed, though, was that a new red rail was installed underneath the white canopy. In addition to the rail, new colorful flags with numbers printed on them hang from the canopy bars, likely assisting crew members with the construction.

The red rail curves underneath the canopy, almost making a complete loop. Boom lifts with crew members were working near the side of the rail that is unfinished. We’re not sure what the rail will be used for or if it’s purely decorative.

Avengers Campus Construction Update - July 2, 2026

Over in Cars Land, the facade of the bathrooms still only has the singular tire repair sign, though there is space for more decorations to be added.

We could see another angle of the crew working on top of the white canopy, with scaffolding and netting surrounding the crew members.

The parts of the expansion visible around the rockwork in Cars Land appear to be largely unchanged, with the steelwork still concealed by netting.

Avengers Campus Expansion

Avengers Campus is currently under construction to include two new rides, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. The former will see heroes jumping through the multiverse to battle King Thanos, while Stark Flight Lab stars Robert Downey Jr. returning as Iron Man, leading guests through a test of new tech. A team of cast members who will work alongside Disney Imagineers to test the attractions has also recently been assembled.

The land expansion will nearly double Avengers Campus in size. Other expansion projects at Disney California Adventure include a new Avatar land and a Coco ride.
