As we get closer to the official opening of Galaxy’s Edge, we notice many of the current construction projects at Hollywood Studios are moving along quickly in an effort to take on the crowds. The new security checkpoint expansion is showing a lot of progress from our last update. Having more security screening lanes will definitely help speed up the entrance process when the crowds arrive for Galaxy’s Edge.
The Hollywood Studios sign is gone. We wonder if it will return with the new logo.
The new structure has a fresh coat of paint, and painters are still hard at work. There looks like there will be a lot of room to handle the crowds. We can’t wait to see it when it’s finished. There’s a small area in the center that looks like it could house some sort of topiary or welcoming centerpiece. We’ll have to wait and see!
The sign is definitely gone, but maybe the curve in the pavement is an indication it will return.
On the other side of the structure, we see the wiring is set up for installing the signs above the checkpoints.
They’ll look like this when they’re completed.
Closer to the Skyliner Station, the ground isn’t nearly as ready as the security check. Some of the path is ready, while other parts are still dirt. It looks like this area still needs more time to get ready for guests.
The ground closest to the security expansion looks like it’s nearing completion.
The security expansion and changes around the entrance of Hollywood Studios are going to be greatly appreciated in the next few months. Thankfully, everything seems to be moving along quickly and should be ready for guests soon. Stay tuned to WDWNT.com for more updates on the many changes taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
