“I’m dreaming of a wet Christmas…” It may have been a rainy night for the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of 2019, but it didn’t seem to dampen the holiday spirit. In lieu of the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade (and to keep a lot of paying attendees happy), the Rainy Day Christmas Cavalcade splashed its way down Main Street, U.S.A., and we have a look at the lineup!
Rain or no rain, it’s no holiday party without a platoon of toy soldiers.
A fleet of Magic Kingdom vehicles bring beloved Disney characters down the parade path. Leading off in the first car, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Donald and Daisy Duck!
I wonder what Donald’s thinking? Maybe it’s, “it never rains this hard at Disney California Adventure.”
Vanellope von Schweetz, Clarabelle Cow, and Chip and Dale ride in the second car. Since this is a parade substitute, Chip and Dale are decked out in their bakers outfits.
Lookin’ sweet, everyone!
The third car holds some all-stars: Goofy, Pluto, and Santa Claus himself!
Pluto sure does love his public! (And I don’t blame him!)
The grand finale is a double-decker bus carrying some beloved Disney animated characters. Here, you can see Rapunzel and Flynn…
And as it passes, we see Snow White and Dopey…
…and Belle, Tiana, Gepetto and Pinocchio…
And as it turns the corner, you can see Alice and the Mad Hatter! (And if you look closely, you can see Ariel on the other side.)
As it comes closer into view, we can also see Cinderella, Aurora, Aladdin, and Jasmine on the other side of the bus.
This is sure to make spirits bright on this rainy night.
And as it pulls away, the party goes on, rain or no rain! And if you’d like to see this parade and stay warm and dry, you can watch our video below!
Is this a neat way to make up for a rainout? Let us know in the comments below, and keep reading WDWNT for continuing coverage of the 2019 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

It was not a great night. The Christmas show at the castle was delayed and then canceled…the parade was not a parade…my daughter got hit in the head by a rogue “Chinese Firework Shell Cup”.
After an hour in line at guest services to report that firework to the head bit, Ana (from Ecuador) didn’t even say “sorry”, didn’t ask if she was ok, didn’t seemed shocked or concerned.
$300 well spent. :-(
So why does it matter that the cast member was from Ecuador? Would Ana (from ‘Murica) been any better? I’ve had increasingly poor service from guest services cast members the last few years no matter where they’re from. They’re clearly not being held to the same standards as in the past, and I imagine for someone that speaks English as a second language it is especially hard to receive the appropriate training to meet the standards that they used to strive for. I would say the issue is less about Ana (from Equador) and more about Disney (from ‘Murica).
That parade looks like fun! We left right when the fireworks (which due to the rain were well covered with their own lingering smoke) started because my husband doesn’t like “long term rain occurences”… Let it be mentioned they did have the first parade and my kids loved it. They relit the castle around 8:15/8:30 even though it might have been too wet for elsa and anna to come out. They had the snowp (soap snow) for a short period of time and we got lots of cookies. We can’t predict the rain so it was the chance we took when we bought tickets months ago. The kakamora floats at the aloha place were awesome! Beyond the few people illegally smoking in the parks, we thought it was ok for a rainy party.
Was such a shame, heard how amazing the mickeys merry christmas party was, but it was overcrowded and wasnt special at all. Disney have totally become greedy instead of being magical jamming more people into the park to gain more profit.
Felt more magical walking around the decorative Christmas trees for FREE in Disney springs today !
I love that the site asks for comments, then removes any negative comments.
We don’t remove negative comments, we remove offensive ones.
Didn’t see the rainy day show, but the castle event went on sans actors, and “froze over”. There was some weird fallout from the fireworks show, wife and I both got pieces of hot firework debris in the eyes, good times =D I used my clear poncho hood to cover my face from further debris. The dnace party in the Storybook Circus was fun, and we collected a bunch of cookies. The feat of the night was the walk directly onto its a small world, that in itself is a bonus, until you realize what ride you’re on. “It’s a slow ride, after all” ;) We all had a blast though, despite the weather!
i have no frickin words to say
