REVIEW: New Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae at Sleepy Hollow Is a Delicious, Messy Magic Kingdom Treat

With the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the season being tonight that can only mean one thing… holiday-themed treats! Our first point on the agenda of the day when visiting the Magic Kingdom this morning was to pick up the new Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae.

Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae – $7.79

Available to pick up at Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom for $7.79, this sundae is a red velvet waffle topped with mint-chip ice cream, seasonal sprinkles, chocolate sauce, and peppermint powder and looks mouth-watering good, but how does it taste?

When I got there, I saw the waffle with the ice cream sitting back on the counter for a long time before they gave it to me, already melting.

The namesake Santa Mickey outline is in the center of the waffle. The mint chocolate chip ice cream is right on the Mickey face, making it hardly visible at all.

It had been sitting so long that the center was completely soggy. You can taste the candy cane and the chocolate a lot, and the ice cream compliments the very chocolatey waffle.

It’s a delicious sundae, but the novelty factor is lost without being able to see the Mickey head. It’s a tasty, though messy, treat.

This treat is available daily for the remainder of the festive season so be sure to grab one for a dose of holiday cheer! Let us know your thoughts on the Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae in the comments below.

Why don’t they wait and scoop the ice cream right before they give it to you? As busy as WDW gets, there’s going to be a lot of waffles with ice cream melting all over the place.

I hope enough people ask for the ice cream on the side so they stop doing this! What a shame they scoop the ice cream right on mickey’s head!

… Is it possible that it is soggy because you took ten photos before you tried it? 😆
