It has been a long while since we checked in on the New Fantasyland construction at Tokyo Disneyland. And a lot has changed in the past month or so. So let’s take a stroll through Belle’s Village and the rest of the expansion!
With the partial opening of another pathway next to Tomorrowland Terrace, we can see the side of this building now. This will be another end of the Village Shops. I’m loving the “exposed brick” on the chimney!
On the central road in Belle’s Village, we can get a glimpse of Beast’s Castle — now largely scaffold-free! And the mountain background along the Fantasyland Forest Theater combines to make this really feel like an authentic European setting.
How about we get a bit closer, shall we?
I did say “largely scaffold-free.” The central front is still a bit covered, but we can catch far more detail now! Seeing it develop and slowly uncover makes the excitement and wait almost unbearable.
With both structures in view, it really feels like you’re in an enchanted forest!
With scaffolding down in the ride entrance area, we can look straight toward the castle. The signs for standby and FastPass return are up, but covered in canvas. If you want to learn more about The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, we have a whole article explaining the plot!
It looks like pavement work is largely done, with most continued work being on the structure itself. I’m so excited for this to open!
We can see that the entrance to the Fantasyland Forest Theater is pretty much done, with only minor scaffolding still up. This show will be home to the all-new Mickey’s Magical Music World, which I’m told will be spectacular!
Over in the Tomorrowland area of construction, scaffolds are down on the Stitch Encounter show building. The paint looks fresh once again, and it fits the rest of Tomorrowland’s aesthetic perfectly!
Over on the parade route side, a vast amount of scaffolding is down on The Big Pop, the upcoming popcorn shop. Most of the structure is visible, and the pathway in the Tomorrowland area looks clearer now. I wonder if this path will reopen before the expansion?
Over in Toontown, not much has changed at Minnie’s Style Studio. The building was mostly uncovered last month, and most work is probably internal at this point. It still looks fantastic, though!
And that’s the latest on New Fantasyland construction over at Tokyo Disneyland! The project really is coming along, and I can’t believe we’re just over three months from opening day on April 15! I’m so excited to see everything new, and I’m sure you folks can’t wait either.
